Description

Langtang valley trek is considered one of the most rewarding short treks in the Langtang region. We drive 90 km north of Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and then the trek begins along the Langtang River through the rhododendron groves until Kenjing Gompa. While trekking, you will enjoy the views of snow-clad peaks and mountain scenery. Langtang valley trekking admittedly cannot boast of the presence of any giant Himalayan peaks, but nonetheless, its scenery is just as spectacular and photogenic as you trek all through the mountain trails. You will encounter the most friendly and hospitable local people in the villages inhabited by both Tamang and Sherpa ethnic communities who follow Tibetan Buddhism and lifestyle. Here, you will find the local people engaged in weaving, painting, farming and raising the cattle. Trekking to Langtang valley is organized in teahouse basis and it is a more economical way rather than camping trekking. You will retrace the same route, and ends at Syabrubeshi. From Syabrubeshi you will catch a bus to Kathmandu.

The valley is abundant in wide arrays of flora and fauna, also provides you opportunities to relax in local settlements and to observe mountain views while trekking. The Langtang valley is close to the border of Tibet and has from subtropical to alpine climatic zones. Langtang Lirung peak (7246m) is the highest peak in the area. Langtang Valley trekking is recommendable for beginners and family groups who want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and experience fascinating rural life and local culture in Nepal.

Langtang national park is enriched with the deciduous Oak and Maple, and evergreens like Pine, and various types of Rhododendrons. Some trekkers are believed to have seen Yeti in the Langtang area.Anyone having a moderate physical fitness level and limited time can choose Langtang valley trek in Nepal.March-May and September-November are the best months to plan this trek
